Dinosaur Eggs

Dinosaur eggs are amazing and exciting! Bean loves to make them, although she has some trouble keeping them together. You also need to dry them overnight before you can actually play with them. But it's worth the wait and it's a fun little activity.
To make dinosaur eggs you need baking soda, water and small, plastic dinosaurs. Food colouring is optional but definitely makes it more fun. We did not follow any specific measurement of baking soda and water, but instead eyed it. Just use enough water that the baking soda is moldable but not too wet that it doesn't stick. Too little water and it won't hold together. We used an equal amount of blue, red and yellow food colouring, but it did not produce the brown colouring we were looking for. It resulted in a pale green colour, but we were satisfied with it.

After we added a few drops of food colouring to add spots to the eggs :)

Bean took a hammer to them before she began spraying them with vinegar. 

The best part of Dinosaur Eggs is watching their reaction when the baking soda reacts to the vinegar. Munchkin likes to feel the bubbles fizz on his hands. Bean takes her time spraying them. It took about half an hour to "melt" all the eggs. Afterwards she washed them off and put them back with the bigger, parent dinosaurs. :)
